Pomeranian Voivodeship (pomorskie) is a province, in north-central Poland. It comprises most of Pomerelia (the most easterly part of historical Pomerania), as well as an area east of the Vistula river. The central parts of the province are also known as Kashubia, named after the Kashubian minority. The provincial capital is Gdańsk. There are not many places in Poland like the Pomeranian Region. Its magic is created by the murmur of the waves of the Baltic Sea, the mysterious forests and woods with their hundreds of lakes and rivers, the beauty of the landscapes and the picturesque hills.
